BACKGROUND
Founded in 1996 on half acre of land, the mosque is situated in trading center, where founders realized that people, who worked in the market had no where to pray from. Muslims found it challenging to go for prayers in distant close mosques this made them reluctant to worship Allah; a few could endeavor to go for prayer. But majority stayed working. Dembe a local term which means “freedom” the mosque was named “DEMBE MASJID” set in the heart of the busy informal market, where people work on few shillings for survival.

Objectives .
- To organize programs that suit Muslim closer communities.
- To train Muslims to write, learn and recite the holy Quran
- To sensitize Muslims about daily happenings in Islam
- To circumcise and nurse new Muslims
- To train mosque Imams and scholars
- To support orphaned and vulnerable Muslims children, youths to access education.
- To train Muslims income generating projects to fight poverty.
- Create networking among local authorities, mosques, schools and organizations
